WORK

Presenting the work in series is not an aesthetic choice, but a necessity for depth. Some ideas only emerge after profound mental weariness with the same subject; that endless revisiting of the same idea until something subtle sprouts. A metaphor, an irony, a satire, or simply a poetic visual idea that deserves that thoughtful reflection.

It is, in short, that... «sucking the marrow out of life» that Professor John Keating called for.

These series aren't self-contained compartments, but rather living, open processes that grow spontaneously, usually in groups of four or five pieces. I'm not aiming for a perfect chronology, but rather an organic evolution of doubt. Creativity needs time, and time is precisely what these series need: they develop gradually throughout this visual essay that will last my entire life. I hope it will be a long essay, but if something were to happen to me tomorrow, please, someone continue this!

Every series has common threads that connect the pieces. In this collection, the main thread is the message: the storytelling and the story contained in each image, relating it to its neighbor. The secondary thread focuses on the figure of Gonza. Let's not get confused: Gonza is not me, Gonzalo. My life is much more boring and predictable than his. Gonza is the inhabitant of these images, a character who allows himself to live on that border between the everyday and the absurd, and who serves as a vehicle for us to think together. In the end, these series are a record of his travels and our shared questions.
