MANIFIESTO

Sometimes we dwell on the idea that the world should be a better place. But then you stop to think and ask yourself: better for whom? Because what works for me might be devastating for you. Is there really an absolute truth we can rely on to create a better world?

Every single person is part of a whole. Among 8,000,000,000 people (a lot of zeros, right?), you and I are just a grain of sand on a beach that never ends. Enormous. And you and I, almost invisible. But the beach is nothing more than the sum of all those grains of sand.

As an individual, my values are clear. I know who I am and who I want to be. I know my positions and how I stand on different issues; there, I allow myself to be a bit more stubborn. But as an artist or philosopher, my responsibility is different: to approach the work with absolute honesty. I don't seek to convince you of anything; I present reality with the necessary starkness or irony to make the impact unavoidable. It is you, who thinks alongside me, who has the right and the duty to judge the idea.

And where is this man trying to get to with all this? Well, mainly to try to give other type of light I invite you to approach these images without fear and see them a little more clearly. I'm not here to change the system; I'm not that naive. In fact, I wouldn't even know where to begin, and I'd probably make a huge mess of things. But that doesn't absolve me of my responsibility to try to find the truth. I refuse to accept the everyday as if it were sacred and set in stone. That's why I use a camera. That's why I use images. But let's not get confused: photography is just the excuse, the means. The end is the philosophy. It's that after-dinner conversation about "fixing the world" that so many of us love.

Nor do I want you to get the impression that this manifesto and this work aspire to the highest goals of transcendence. The bulk of it aims to be beautiful and entertaining, and to celebrate the virtues of humankind. Above all, it seeks to showcase the potential we possess.

"Human beings are a rope stretched between the beast and the superhuman: a rope over an abyss."

Nietzsche

Therefore, although series like Antitopía or Technological pollution They talk about dodgy things, things that aren't pleasant to see and that we've completely normalized, others like The power of love or Vocations They deal with much more wonderful aspects of our species.

In short, and to conclude this manifesto, I would say that the purpose of this work is simple: to motivate us not to be complacent. To question how we do things and to foster critical thinking that makes us more human and more compassionate. To seek the truth, or at least to never stop seeking it, using creativity as an axe to break through the ice of routine. Because questioning the world only makes sense if, at the end of the day, we are still capable of being moved by it.

Now, if you'd like to know how all this madness comes to life, I'll be waiting for you in the journal;
